Assalamualaikum warahmatullah...Bismillahirrahmanirrahim...

Alhamdulillah...all praises to Allah...for giving me the chance to post my 1st entry in this blog as the new President of IPhA 2010/11 session. First and foremost, I would like to introduce myself...my name is Mohd Syamil bin Zahari...3rd year student...live in Kota Bharu, Kelantan.

InsyaAllah starting from now, i will handle this blog as the medium for all members and outsiders to communicate with IPhA President directly. If you have any issue or inquiry regarding IPhA, please and please do not hesitate to contact me through this blog or official email (iphapresident@yahoo.com). I'll try to response to all issues raised as soon as i can. Please do visit this blog regularly for any update about IPhA.

Special thanks and appreciation to all AGM 2010 committees for all their efforts and hardworks in making AGM this year a success. May Allah reward and bless all of them. Congratulation and takziah to all new IPhA office bearers session 2010/11 for being elected to hold the positions. Thanks a lot to all IPhA members, advisor and lecturers for their belief and support. May Allah guide and help us in fulfilling this big amanah (responsibility).

Recently IPhA has passed through series of success year by year, leaving IPhA with very high benchmark and expectation. It is a really big challenges for all office bearers this tenure to ensure and continue the excellence of IPhA. But, im very optimist, with a team of very committed and enthusiastic office bearers as well as supportive members, I believe that IPhA will continue its glory as the most leading society not only in the university but also in the country...perhaps in the global. May Allah give us strength and true intention in serving the community and hopefully, it will also give benefits to our self-improvement as well. As this society belongs to all members, I really hope that all members can give their full cooperation and work hand-in-hand to achieve our mission. Thank you so much for your support.

Selamat Bercuti & Selamat Hari Raya Aidilfitri

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Selamat bercuti dan selamat hari raya aidilfitri buat semua pelajar farmasi. Alhamdulillah saya fikir cuti raya tahun ini adalah yang terbaik kerana kita mempunyai cuti yang panjang sebelum dan selepas hari raya pertama dan kedua. Jadi kita perlu memanfaatkan cuti ini dengan sebaik-baiknya agar ia benar-benar berkualiti. Marilah kita hidupkan kembali amalan ziarah-menziarahi-hubungkan kembali silaturrahim antara ahli keluarga, jiran-jiran dan masyarakat.

Juga tidak lupa untuk kita sama-sama berusaha dengan sebaik mungkin dalam saki baki bulan Ramadhan ini. Mari kita perbanyakan serta meningkatkan kualiti ibadah kita- membaca Quran, iktikaf di masjid serta Qiyammulail. Kita masih belum tentu lagi akan berjumpa dengan ramadhan pada tahun depan. Anggaplah ramadhan ini adalah ramadhan yang terakhir supaya kita sentiasa menjadikan ia adalah yang terbaik berbanding tahun-tahun lepas.

Berikut adalah amalan-amalan sunat dibulan syawal:

Amalan sunat pada 1 Syawal seperti :

a) Membayar zakat fitrah sebelum menunaikan Solat AidilFitri
b) Menghias diri dan tempat tinggal supaya kelihatan bersih dan cantik
c) Mendi Sunat Aidilfitri pada pagi harinya
d) Menjamah sedikit makanan sebelum keluar menuju masjid
e) Keluar menuju ke masjid dengan satu jalan dan bila pulang menggunakan jalan yang lain
f) Lebih afdal dengan berjalan kaki ke masjid
g) Mengumandangkan takbir, tahmid dan tahlil bermula malam 1 Syawal hinggalah terbenam matahari pada hari raya tersebut.

Berpuasa 6 hari dalam bulan Syawal (Sunat Syawal)
Rasulullah saw bersabda yang maksudnya " Sesiapa yang berpuasa di bulan Ramadhan dan kemudian diikuti dengan 6 hari dibulan Syawal maka perumpamaannya seperti ia berpuasa sepanjang tahun."

Where should we be going?

University students play the important roles in developing the nation. Student life doesn’t mean that they only need to focus on study but also actually they have responsibilities on the society and nation.

Actually, university students are able to determine the nation future directions and the government's policies. But how? In some nations, the students like to go down to the streets where they will demonstrate their feelings and part of them with the intention as well as absolutely think in changing the government is the main solution (even do not know about the policies,etc but merely want to change the government!!). So, is it the best way? Or is there any other solution?

Personally, I think the best way is through or depend on how the students leaders will lead their society. Is it they just want to be a normal students society which organized yearly repeated-normal programs or a different student society that give the tremendous impacts to the society and nations. Then it might be an issue- in order give the impact, the students society need to make the big programs. Thus, it doesn't mean that only a big event can give big impact. However, we cannot deny that these two aspects ( big event and big impact) are interconnected. At last, it depends on the students leaders how to work out the situations.

Besides, different students societies can give different contributions. This is more apparent to the kulliyyah/faculty-based societies (KBS) which these types of students bodies specifically represent their future profession or their specializations of knowledge. For example the Economy Students Society can conduct a program that educate the public how to curb the effects of global economic depression in their daily life. Another example, the Islamic based students societies can progressively organized a program that spread the Islamic knowledge or dakwah to public in solving the social problems. Consequently, the students societies do not totally blame and put the burden on the government (through street demonstrations, harshly and irrelevant critics) but also actually relieve the public problems and indirectly help the government in solving the current issues (example: economic depression, social problems).

Thus, for IPhA, we have decide to be different students society and bring reformations not only to the members but also to the public as well as to the nation. There should not be an issue that the students are too active or too many activities. But actually IPhA caters the variable students interest through the numerous programs with different objectives and target participants. While for the ummah and nation- IPhA would organize a program that focus on halal pharmaceutical issues through the first National Halal Pharmaceutical Conventions and Exhibition (NHPCE) 2010 in early October and IPhA currently work out to publish a book that related to the usage of medications from the Islamic perspectives. Insya Allah through these projects, IPhA would able to coin the terms of Fiqh Pharmacy and Islamic Manufacturing Practice (IMP) in order to create awareness to the public, government and nation. Thus, it is better to act and provide solutions rather than merely critics and doing nothing.

In the nutshell, the university students are able and capable in bringing the differences and making the changes to the nations. Truly, it is full of challenges and needs a huge of efforts and sacrifices in order to make the differences and reformations. But, the university students should not be forget that their main agenda is the study as they carry the hopes of parents, ummah and the nation. Be active and holistic students but not to be the passive university students!!!.

Alhamdulillah saya berkesempatan untuk menulis sedikit coretan di blog ini. Ketika ini saya sedang berada di Jongno-Gu,Seoul (berdekatan dengan Hanyang University) untuk menghadiri Asia-Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposiums (APPS) 2010 di Seoul National University (SNU) yang akan bermula pada hari ini.

Suasana di Seoul memang berbeza dengan di Kuala Lumpur. Jika di KL susah untuk menggunakan internet dan mudah pula untuk menggunakan pre-paid/post-paid tetapi keadaan di Seoul agak mudah untuk mendapat acess internet dan talian pre-paid/post-paid memang sukar!

Buat semua sahabat-sahabat ahli IPhA selamat pulang ke Kulliyyah of Pharmacy-insya Allah sem 1 2010/2011 yang akan bermula pada 12 Julai ini. Insya Allah akan ada banyak perubahan besar dalam sistem akademik Kulliyyah of Pharmacy (termasuk sistem peperiksaan). Secara amnya Kulliyyah of Pharmacy akan menuju ke arah Continues Learning. Ada perubahan-perubahan yang hanya melibatkan Rx6th, Rx7th dan Rx8th dan perubahan keseluruhan mungkin akan melibatkan batch yang baru.

Alhamdulillah perubahan-perubahan ini adalah hasil Curicullum Review yang telah diadakan pada bulan lepas. Jadi, buat semua ahli IPhA selamat berusaha bersungguh-sungguh dan mencapai kejayaan-kejayaan di dunia dan di akhirat dalam segala lapangan( bukan sahaja akademik tetapi juga dalam sahsiah, kokurikulum). Insya Allah.

Manakala buat Rx5th selamat melalui alam pekerjaan yang pastinya sangat berbeza dengan alam universiti. Berusahalah dengan sebaik mungkin kerana kita bukan sahaja akan membawa maruah diri bahkan juga nama Kulliyyah Pharmacy UIA. Dari aspek lain segala usaha kita itu adalah merupakan sumbangan kita untuk Islam, bangsa dan negara. Maka selamat bekerja dan semoga berjaya! Insya Allah. Insya Allah, semoga kita berjumpa nanti di UIA!

Educational Trip to Saudi Arabia 2010

Assalamualaikum w.b.t.

Alhamdulillah, praise be to Allah s.w.t that ETRISA 2010 has been organized successfully from 19th April to 2nd May 2010. 22 students from 4th year and 3rd year had joined this trip. Actually, it is the 2nd time for IPhA to organize this trip (the 1st trip was in 2008). Nevertheless, the trip has been an unforgettable new experience to all of us.

We departed from KLIA at 4.00 pm on 19th April 2010 with Saudi Arabian flight and arrived at Medina Airport near midnight. We stayed at Al Huda Manazeli Hotel where we can see minarets of Nabawi Mosque. Staying in Medina is so peaceful and calm. The prophet mosque is very beautiful. There are people performing ibadah inside the mosque almost 24/7. This has encouraged us very much to increase our effort in ibadah both in quantity and quality. The heart-touching moment when entering the Raudhah, visiting Rasulullah’s mausoleum and Baqi’ cemeteries has made us realize about ourselves as the servants of Allah s.w.t. We also visited Mount Uhud, King Fahd Quran Printing Complex and buy some dates at the Dates Market.

In Medina, we managed to visit Taibah University. Unfortunately, their students are on vacation at that time. However, we did have fruitful discussion with many of their lecturers. The participants are divided into several groups and there are 3-4 lecturers on each table. Many issues have been discussed, for instance curriculum, students’ activities and even lecturers’ salary! This is due to some of them are interested to come to Malaysia, but the high income offered by the Saudi Arabian universities might make them think twice. The participants are also very lucky to be able to meet the President of Taibah University, Prof. Dr. Mansour bin Mohammed Al-Nouzha. According to their staff, they usually meet the President for a few times only in a year. We feel like entering Prime Minister’s office because we have to pass few rooms before we can reach the President’s office. Alhamdulillah, at the end of the visit, we were served with lamb mandi (nasi bukhari-like) and numerous delicious Arabian foods.

Apart from that, we had a short meeting with some Malaysian students studying at Islamic University of Medina. Bro. Aziz, the Vice President of Malaysian Students Association in Medina shared bundles of stories and experience as student in Medina. He also delivered a tazkirah during the session.

The time is running very fast when we realized that it’s time to leave Medina on the 4th day. The journey along the Makkah-Medina Highway reminded us about the Prophet’s Hijrah. We kept repeating Labbaikallahumma labbaik (Here I am…in Your service here I am). We arrived at Makkah during Maghrib time and stayed at Dar Burhan Hotel. That night, we performed our 1st umrah, led by Ustaz Sebri Said. For majority of us, it was our first time to see the magnificent Masjidil Haram, entering it and see the Ka’bah in front of our very own eyes. It’s hard to describe the feeling. We were at the centre of the world where all Muslims direct themselves to during prayer!

Like Medina, staying in Makkah is ibadah-oriented. The main thing is to be ready for another prayer time. Subuh is as early as 4.30 am. We need to go early if we want to pray in the front line. We will miss the melodious and touching Quran recitation by the Imams, the determination of Muslims to perform ibadah and not to forget the Saudi Arabian polices who are well known with “Hajj!” shouting. In Makkah, we visited a few Islamic historical places such as Hira’ Cave at Jabal Nur, Jabal Thur, Jabal Rahmah, Arafah, Mina, Muzdalifah, Qiblatain Mosque and Camel Farm. It is very funny to see how outrageous the farmers are in attracting people to come and buy Camel milk from them. “Murah! Bagus! Asli!”, again and again.

Alhamdulillah, we had a surprise message from Dean of College of Pharmacy, Ummul Qura University, welcoming our visit to their place. Previously, we thought that they did not reply our request. Although still young, Ummul Qura Pharmacy College is already waiting for their new building. We were brought for a tour around the campus and observe the facilities of the Pharmacy College such as laboratories and lecture hall. Their lecturers are very enthusiastic in explaining how they learn and do lab practicals. Here, the participants were also able to meet and had short discussion with the lecturers and the final year pharmacy students. To our amazement, Pharmacognosy subject (which is learnt by our second year students) has its own department in this college. There are five specific subjects being taught to the students related to Pharmacognosy alone! Same like Taibah University, they have two programs, Bachelor of Science in Pharmaceutical Sciences (BSPS) and Doctorate of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.). Once again, we have been served with a lot of foods to the extent that we eat all of them without knowing their name and how to match them with others. After six days staying in Makkah, finally, the end has come. We leave the Holy Land of Makkah and Medina with sweet memories and arrived at KLIA safely on 2nd May 2010.

In a nutshell, I believed all the objectives have been achieved. The participants were not only able to purify their souls, improve the quality of ibadah but also in term of IPhA and IIUM, the trip had established better networking with two universities, which are Pharmacy College of Taibah University, Medina and Pharmacy College of Ummul Qura University, Makkah. Hopefully, this will help to improve the students’ performance and prepare themselves in educating the ummah and serving the nation.

Reformation

Firstly, I would like to congratulate to all Community Service and Health Screening for Aborigines (COHSAS) 2010 committees for the success in conducting the program. Insya Allah, the objectives are achieved. I believe not only the villagers got the benefits but also the participants. I’m really glad when I saw how committed the committees are and how they treat the villagers (very kind and close). Insya Allah, this program will be continually organized next term. Again, congratulate and thank you to all committees and IPha Biro of Welfare.

Curriculum Review

Insya Allah, Kulliyyah of Pharmacy will organize 2^nd Curriculum Review (CR) on 4^th-6^th June 2010. This CR is conducted in every four years. Alhamdulillah, IPhA has been given the chance by the Dean to participate in this three days session. There will be four students represent IPhA who are from each batch (Rx5th-Rx8th). Prof Tariq has pledged to make this challenging course is beneficial and enjoyed by the students. Now, it is our role to help the kulliyyah in reforming the IIUM pharmacy curriculum either minor or major changes.

Till now IPhA already conducted the survey on CR during the past semester (by the IPha Biro of Academic and Professionalism). However, after the final examination, I believe there are numerous issues on the academic system that are needed to rise up. Thus, insya Allah on the middle of May, the IPhA members (students) can view the survey on our website and if has any new comment or suggestion, please inform the committees in charge. Insya Allah, our efforts can bring the changes/reformations in order to make the best curriculum for our interesting pharmacy course in nurturing Professional Muslim Pharmacists.

Cabinet Reform

Insya Allah, there will be cabinet reform in IPhA Office Bearers 2009/2010 which are involves at 2 or 3 biros. In addition, there might be a new office bearer(s) for certain post(s). These changes are really crucial in order to strengthen the IPhA and make IPhA move more progressively in order to establish IPhA as the students centered in nurturing Professional Muslim Pharmacists as well as to cater the students’ issues effectively. Insya Allah, the official announcement on the cabinet reform will be on middle of May since this matter is still under serious discussion because numerous aspects need to be reviewed.

We really want to establish IPhA that the members, kulliyyah and the University can be proud of and that can serve for the better future of the profession-ummah, society and nation.

Meanwhile, hopefully we can make this semester break beneficial to ourselves, family and the society. Surely, we spend less time at home with our family, but the important is the quality of our time at home.

Insya Allah, we will meet again in the up coming program or during the next semester 2009/2010.

Here are the several issues that has been discussed during the 2nd admin meeting which was on 10th March 2010 (Wednesday).

Academic and Discipline Matters:

Study Week: Insya Allah, Kulliyyah will try to allocate study week starting next session 2010/2011. Unfortunately, in this semester, the study week cannot be arranged due to it is too late. Actually, this matter has been planned to be raised up by IPhA during admin on February however the meeting on that month had been postponed to the last Wednesday (which was on 2nd last week of this semester) due to Academic Performance Audit Meeting which was held on the same day.

Facilities:

2.1 Food price and not enough food at the cafe-Deputy Dean Student Affairs, Mdm Siti Halimah will take an action.
2.2 Lift- Alhamdulillah, currently the lift already been used.
2.3 Audi air conditioning system, Musolla internal PA system, dustbin and wifi- Admin Kulliyyah will take action on these matters.

...........................Other Issue.........................

There is a new policy for the KOP that if the students fail in any subject which is specifically below 45, they need to attend to the class of the subject and if the subject is a pre-requirement for another subject, they need to pass the previous subject before can proceed to the other related subject. For example, if the student fail Physical Pharmacy 1(PP1), he/she cannot take the Industrial Pharmacy and Regulation (IPR), since PP1 is the pre-requirement for the IPR.
However, this issue I heard from one of our lecturers but not during the Admin Meeting. Thus, this matter need to be officially clarify by the KOP Admin first.

The New Dimension

Assalamualaikum wbt..

First and foremost, I think it's still not too late to wish congratulation to our IPhA Sport Team for their success in National Pharmacy Sport Carnival 2010 at MSU last Saturday. They have done well in this year . Even though, in overall we end up 1st runner up, we still the has the amount of gold medal (5 gold medals) compare to the champion, Uitm which was won only 2 gold medals but they left us only 3 points. Moreover, in this year, we are able to increase the amount of gold medals compare to the last year competition where we just able won 3 gold medals. Alhamdulillah thanx to to Allah who gave us the chance to win.

Never forget to say the abundance of thanks to our Head Committee of Sport & Recreation, Matmin and his assistance Latifah and Mustaqim for their hard efforts in managing the team. Also congratulation to this Sport and Recreational Bureau.

Insya Allah NPSC 2011 will be organized by UKM.

Insya Allah in the future, there will be abundance of chances for the pharmacy students to participate directly in the national level activities. This is due to the tranformation and restructuring of Malaysia Pharmacy Students Association (MyPSA), inysa Allah this change will be be officially announce during the National Gathering of Pharmacy Students (NoGAPs) 2010 at AIMST University.

Furthermore, insya Allah, starting on this semester break, IPhA officially embark on its national-international activities which is giving the chance to the IPhA members to get exposure at the higher level and insya Allah, consequently will give good points in the students' resume.

Also during this semester break, insya Allah on May, for the first-time ever one of IPhA members, Khairul Afif (yr 3) has been selected for Student Exchange Program (SEP) under International Pharmaceutical Students Federation (IPSF). Insya Allah, he will do a clinical attachment at Baltimore, USA. There are 9 Malaysian students has been selected for this SEP.

IPhA really hopes that IPhA members will not miss the chance to participate not only in the university level but also in the national and international level activities. Insya Allah, even though IPhA will actively play apart in the national level, it will never forget the importance of the students' welfare and internal development.

Lastly, hopefully everybody will be prepared for the final exam which is just around the corner.

Moving Foward

Assalamaualaikum wbt..

In moving foward- to bring IPhA to the next phase which is towards contributing to the ummah, play significant role in the professional development, there are numerous challenges that need to overcome.

Activating people, improving the relationship among the ipha members as well as with the lecturers and staffs, welfare, academic and discipline issues,small budget allocation, and other internal matters are those challenges.

The development of human capital is the most difficult when compare to the development of materials such as building,infrastructures, and facilities. We can build up mega buildings in second if we have the money/ fund. But in nurturing the human capital, the money is not the main key factor. The human needs knowledge as it will help in cultivating good moral value.

Thus, when the human conducts the good moral values and uphold the religion-Islam, then they are able to play significant role for the ummah and the nation.

The two former prime ministers of Malaysia has different style in developing Malaysia. One of them use external matters in his premier while the another one use focus internal development only. Thus, for me, it is better developing internal and consequently shaping external. This two matters need two move in parallel, neither one should superior than the other.

For the IPhA and Kuliyyah of Pharmacy, it is still a long journey to go, there are many things that need to improve or change. And it is not an individual works but its need the cooperation from all members of the pharmacy society (students, lecturers and staff).

Inysa Allah after the midsem exam, IPha will release official statement regarding all student issues that had been discussed during this 1st admin meeting for this year, 2010.

SRC election

Congratulate to Mustaqim and Hanisah for being elected for Session 2009/2010. However, it is really disappointed that the turn out is only about <35%. Something need to be done.

Students Feedback Survey

Dear all, salam,

This semester, we are introducing a new system that replaces the online Teacher Evaluation Rating (TER) system. The new system is called Student Feedback Survey (SFS). The online SFS is a platform for students to give feedback on lecturers, courses, University's facilities and Kulliyyahs.

The SFS has four (4) parts, i.e.,

Part A: Lecturer
Part B: Course
Part C: University
Part D: Kulliyyah

The SFS is conducted two (2) times in every semester except for the short semester where it is conducted only once. The first run will be conducted in week 7 of the semester, while the second run will be conducted starting from week 11.

This semester, we are using the SFS for the first time. We will conduct the first run starting from 21 January to 5 February 2010. For the first run, students have to complete Part A only (questions about the lecturer).

We hope each Kulliyyah will play its part in informing students regarding the new SFS system and encourage students to give their feedback on their lecturers within the time period mentioned above.

Our midsem exam just around the corner which is will be on 25th Jan-2nd Feb 2010. It's our policy that there will be no any activity 2 weeks before midsem exam and 3 weeks before final exam.Thus, it is the time to totally focus to our xm.

ADMIN MEETING

Insya Allah this wednesday: 20th January 2010, there will be Admin Meeting. In this meeting the Dean, 3 Deputy Deans, Head of Departments, Director of Natural Medicine Products Centre, IT coordinator, Science Officers, Exucative Officer, Finance Officer, Project Manager Development Division and IPhA President will attend this meeting, insya Allah. Thus, if you has any issues/ problems regarding our kulliyyah,etc just inform me. Insya Allah, I will bring it forward.

p/s: Congratz to our Dr. Taher for newly being appointed as Deputy Dean Postgraduate Affairs.

SRC ELECTION

Also about ipha policy- IPhA opens the chance to anyone who is interested to enter SRC election. No restriction. Totally democracy. Alhamdulillah, there are three candidates for our kulliyyah who are Ahmad Mustaqim, Hanisah Kamaruddin, and Nur Atiqah. So gudluck to all candidates.

INTERKULLIYYAH SPORTS CARNIVAL

Alhamdulillah, this year we had achieved our target which was to get top 3 overall. Alhamdulillah we hold 3rd place.

In short we won:

2 Golds : Basketball (M) and Football
1 silver: Sepak takraw
4 bronzes: VOlleyball (M)& (F), Futsal (M), Chess (M)

For ping pong we shared the 3rd place with other kulliyyahs, unfortunately the bronze medal was been given to another team.

Congratulation to all athletes (Pamasi Team) and thanx to all ipha supporters (Gelombang Biru).

Assalamualaikum wbt..

Here are several updates:

1) IPhA Sports Carnival (ISC)& Smart Presentation and Study Skill Workshop (SPSS).

These two programs are postponed (SPSS-the probabilty to postpone is too high) due to Interkulliyyah Sport Carnival and technical problems respectively. Insya Allah ISC will be held on February while the date for SPSS will be determined later, possibly next semester. Actually, this tenure is the 1st tenure which has the most frequent public holidays on weekend. Thus, we have time constrain in organizing program. Any changes in almanac will give quite significant effects in achieving this tenure goals.

2) MidSem Exam

Insya Allah midsem exam will be on 25th Jan- until 2nd Feb 2010 (8 days). However, for the 1st year and 4th, the exam duration will be only for 7 days. This exam duration is determined through the consensus for each batch. While, regarding the issue why our kulliyah don't has any midsem break compare with other kulliyyahs (except KOM), this is due to our kulliyyah is using close system for midsem exam which means there will be no class during the exam period. Moreover our kulliyyah has fixed the midsem exam week which is on week 8. Unfortunately, this semester, IIUM admin has allocated the week 8 as the midsem break. I think the midsem break should not be an issue since we have many long weekend holidays in this semester. In the present, our Educational and Professional Bureau (Edu & Pro) is trying their best in arranging the exam timetable. InsyAllah, the exam timetable will be available on 11-12th Jan. InsyAllah. Lastly, we should deeply considered our friends who has repeated subject(s). We should not think only for our own benefits. We should be together in achieving success. Good luck for midsem exam!!!.

3) Students Lounge and Wifi

InsyAllah, in mid January, our students lounge will be start operating at very basic. InsyAllah, our students lounge will be upgrade steps by steps.

While, the regarding the wifi issue- the contractor had been set up the wifi devices in our kulliyyah however according to ITD officer-there is no decision yet when to start the wifi facilities. Our plan through Publication and Information Bureau (Pub & Info), IPhA will provide our own wifi router if there is no plan to start wifi in the mean time. In the present, our Pub and Info bureau still continuously do a follow up with the ITD.

IPhA Corporation (I-Corp) & IPhA-Alumni Membership Card

Here I would like to explain about two of our IPhA projects.

IPhA Corporation (I-Corp)

IPhA Corporation (I-Corp) is a new entity for our entrepreneurship bureau after it has been privatized. This means after this privatization, those who involved (not only committee in charge) in the IPhA generated-income projects will be paid for their effort that will according to the profit ratio. However, the terms and conditions are still applied. In addition, I-Corp will actively involves in capital-profit sharing for those who is interested in doing business. The main purpose of establishment of I-Corp is to generate income for IPhA as well as to encourage pharmacy students to involve in business as one of our pharmacy professions is the community pharmacy. Moreover, among the final goals of I-Corp are to establish IPhA Shop (I-Shop) and consequently to take over several important businesses in our kulliyyah and campus.

IPhA-Alumni Membership card

IPhA plans to give more benefits to its members. One of them is through IPhA-Alumni membership card. Its main objective is to establish network as well as to encourage cooperation among our members and ex-members (Alumni). Each year there will be one batch graduated and another new batch registered to our kulliyyah. Moreover, we should take benefits on our profession varieties. InsyAllah, in the future the IPhA members will get more benefits through this card-in plan- IPhA members will get special prices at selected local community pharmacies. In addition, this project has get positive feedback from our Alumni President, Bro. Shazly but still need detail discussion with Alumni.

IPhA e-media and upcoming IPhA programs..

Here I would like to clarify on our e-media;

IPhA website: basically will covered on official information and in the future, it will be more towards public-friendly...not only benefits IPhA members but also benefits the public..insyAllah..but right now the website is in transition phase between the former and new administrators..

IPhAPress (I-Press): easy-going, not too serious but reliable- the coverage is on IPhA activities and anything happen around us...the update is frequent compare to IPhA website.

IPhA president's blog: generally, this blog is purposely to reduce the barrier between the president and ipha members...and purposely to give direct info from the president to the ipha members or vice versa-the ipha members can directly give their idea, opinions to the president in order to improve IPhA and KOP..ipha president will attend admin meeting as the student representative..so don't hesitate to share your idea, opinion or anything (including problems regarding mahalah issue) to the president..

insyAllah next admin meeting is on early December...

upcoming event (December 2009): insyAllah;

1. Seminar Gerak Kerja IPhA(12/12/09-Sat)- only for all IPhA office bearers and secretary as well as treasurer of each bureau..

2. Pharmaniaga Academic Award (16/12/09-Wed)- start at 2.00pm-venue- Audi KOP- all students are compulsory to attent this event. Pharmaniaga will sponsored the awards. InsyAllah during the session, 1st official IPhA corporate video will be officially shown for the first-time.

3. Pharmily Day (19/12/09-Sat)-insyAllah all mentee will participate together with their mentee. InsyAllah the venue- Pantai Balok and the committee in charge will update the info later..

insyAllah all IPhA activities will be updated from time to time.

Minta semua student pharmacy berhati-hati apabila membawa barang berharga ke exam hall. Terutamanya apabila hendak letak barang di luar exam hall. Sudah ada dua kes kecurian barang berharga hari ini.

InsyAllah IPhA akan membuat surat aduan ke admin kulliyyah pharmacy dan akan mencadangkan kulliyyah meletakkan rak barang dlm xm hall.

Sepatutnya di uia bebas daripada sebarang kes kecurian apatah lagi di uia kuantan ni. Amat-amat terkejut dgn apa yg berlaku. Tak sangka betul dan memalukan.

Memo from A&R regarding adherence to university attire...one of the rules enforced : Any student inappropriately attired will be barred from entering all academic and administration buildings.......and should be refused from sitting for final examination. Alhamdullilah sebentar tadi baru sahaja selesai 1st Presidential Meeting 2009/2010. Meeting ini telah dihadiri wakil-wakil kulliyah based society- (eg; IPhA)-biasanya president, Mahalah Representative Council (MRC) and SRC.

Ada beberapa perkara yang telah dibangkitkan-antaranya:

1. Isu sticker kereta untuk off campus student (y1-y2)-buat masa ni,prosedurnya adalah seperti berikut:
i)borang permohanan,salinan geran/insuran kereta berserta
iii)surat permohonan drpd ibu/bapa pelajar yang ditujukan kepada Tn. Hj Azmi.-
perlu dihantar ke Tn Hj Azmi untuk pengesahan.

2. Isu mahalah- insyAllah SRC bersama MRC akan mengadakan sesi dialog/ penerangan/ kenyataan rasmi mengenai isu ini minggu kedua sem depan (sem 2 09/10).

Sebarang cadangan/ komen ataupun pertanyaan amatlah dialu-alukan.

Selesai prafasa, fokus untuk final exam..

Assalamualaikum wbt...

Alhamdulillah berakhirnya sesi fotografi pagi tadi (rabu) bermakna selesai sudah pre-phase ipha 2009/2010. Jutaan terima kasih buat semua officer bearers kerana memberi komitmen untuk ipha dalam masa yang kritikal skang ni. Juga tidak lupa buat subcom yg datang ke subcom meeting isnin malam lepas serta buat jurugambar iphapress -amin dan fadlan yg sanggup meluangkan masa untuk sesi fotografi pg td (rabu).

Memang mencabar untuk set up ipha dalam masa 3 minggu sebelum final exam dimana menuntut pegorbanan masa dan tenaga daripada semua pihak sama secara langsung atau tidak langsung. Tetapi semua itu adalah amanah yang perlu dilakukan dengan terbaik. InsyAllah.

Sementara ini (sementara ipha beroperasi sepenuhnya awal sem depan) diharap semua office bearers dan ipha members dapat memberi semua tumpuan sepenuhnya untuk final exam sem 1 09/10- mari kita sama2 dapatkan kejayaan yang terbaik di dunia dan diakhirat dalam seluruh aspek. InsyAllah.Amiin.

Usaha dengan besungguh ,Doa dengan ikhlas, Tawakal dengan yakin.

I-fest inconjuction with I-quest

Assalamualaikum..

InsyAllah today will start our IIUM kuantan Open Day which is I-Quest. Thus, in conjunction with I-Quest, IPhA proudly presents 1st IPhA Festival (i-fest) 2009. Spontaneously planned by IPhA mainboard 08/09, this limited and low-budget program consist of four events which are:

Booths: Date: 17-18/10/09

1. Medicine Clean up Cabinet Campaign- This is a collaboration program with Malaysia Pharmacy Society.Public or anybody are pleased to exchange their expired or unused medications with the souvenirs that are provided by committees.

2. Smoke Free Campaign-This program is highly supported by National Poison Center (PRN) - 'Come to test your lung' and grab various souvenirs from PRN.

Events: Venue: Both in Audi KOM Date: 18/10/09- Sunday

3. Patient Counseling Events (PCE)-is a role play between community pharmacist and a patient. The participants who will be the pharmacists in the role play will be accessed basically on their counseling skills. The best skills applied will be announced as the winner of the event. This events has been organized worldwide but in Malaysia it is still new. May be this is the second PCE organized in Malaysia after this 1st PCE was held during 8th Asia Pacific Pharmaceutical Symposium in USM last June. Time: 10.00 am

4. Forum on Dispensing Rights- this is a collaboration program between IIUM Pharmacy Students Society (IPhA) and Medical Students Council (MSC). There are three panelists who are Mr John Chang-a prominent speaker, former MPS President, representatives from FOMCA and Malaysian Medical Association (MMA). Time: 2.00 pm

Selamat datang ke blog president ipha.

Blog ini dibuat adalah bertujuan untuk mendapat maklum balas/ cadangan/ idea / masalah daripada semua ipha members terutamanya sebelum Kulliyyah Admin Meeting. Dalam admin meeting ini semua hal2 daripada ipha members akan disampaikan terus kepada Dean Kulliyyah Farmasi. Blog ini juga bertujuan untuk menyampaikan info daripada ipha president, mainboard dan office bearers untuk semua ipha members.

Mungkin ada yang bertanya kenapa perlu blog sedangkan dah ada website IPhA. InsyAllah blog ini adalah khusus untuk IPhA members.Manakala website IPhA akan ditambah nilai untuk lebih fokus kepada perkara-perkara umum mengenai ipha dan lebih ke arah mesra masyarakat. InsyAllah.
